Built in 1906 as a streetcar storage facility, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Northern Bus Garage in Washington, DC was closed in 2019 and will be reconstructed into a modern bus maintenance and operations facility. The newly constructed garage will be able to house up to 150 buses and include infrastructure needed to support an all-electric bus fleet as part of Metro's transition to zero-emission buses.
C3M is providing the project’s electrical and fire alarm systems, battery electric bus (BEB) charging infrastructure, electric vehicle chargers, solar panels, a SCADA system, lighting, lighting control, and lighting protection.
